The IEEE Women in Engineering (WIE) International Leadership Summit was held in the UK for the first time at the University of Southampton, from the 13th to the 15th August 2018. The summit was organised by University of Southampton postgraduate students and researchers. The three day event brought together individuals from industry and academia to participate in technical and leadership workshops and talks, whilst engaging in discussions revolving around achieving inclusivity in diversity. Thus, provided plentiful opportunities to create and expand networks, gain an insight into new technology and improve interpersonal skills. The summit also included talks from the current Global chair of IEEE WIE Bozenna Pasik-Duncan and future chair Dr. Lisa Lazareck-Asunta. The event aimed to inspire, encourage and empower women globally by creating opportunities through inclusivity in diversity to enable a change in the tomorrows’ contemporary work practise and academic culture to be welcoming to one and all.
